...make them a bit more tricky to work on for sure, but if you want complicated, then the Omega Memomatic cal 980 wins the prize. That would be the most involved way to implement an alarm complication you could dream of. I can only assume it was to get around patents or something. They certainly can be problematic especially if the center part of the dial goes bad as it contains part of the mechanism actually in the dial. In their favor of course, is the superb quality of construction and finish, typical of Omega at the time.
