MB4810/405 Movement

I'm trying to verify what movement the 4810/405 is based. I searched several places and some say it's a modified 7753, but the jewel count doesn't match. Does anyone know for sure if it's an ETA, and if so, which one? Many thanks!

thanks for your post. I also thought that it was based upon a 7753 based caliber. MB modifies the ETA movements to various degrees and perhaps there were some modifications made by MB that causes the difference.

On a long shot I called Montblanc USA. They helpfully researched it and stated that their literature shows the MB4810/405 is based on the ETA 2893-2. The jewel count at 21 is the same for both, so I think we've found the winner! Apparently the newer MB 24.05 also starts life as a 2893.
