Rare Seamaster Polaris - info please
Mon, 12 November 2012 15:35
This has been bugging me for some time, and I finally decided to get some much need help. I have this watch:
I am the third owner, came with box, all papers and cards, and before purchase the local Omega service center - which I trust for other reasons - assured me it's original. But ever since having it, I never a saw a single one being offered for sale or even mentioned online. The Omega vintage database only has the quartz versions, but someone told me the reference number is 368.0885. So it seems to be as rare as hen's teeth. The only other information I gleaned from other sites is that the Polaris was designed by Gerard Genta (?).
So my question is: has anybody seen one of these in the metal, heard it mentioned or is mine the only one on planet Earth? Any and all further information would be most welcome.
Note: the second hand was originally white, I had it repainted as the advance into middle age is having its toll on my eyesight.
Many thanks
