I bit the bullet Mon, 19 November 2018 17:41 Go to previous messageGo to previous message

I decided to bite the bullet and go with the Sub ND. Once again, I cannot thank you all enough for your advice and input! Many reasons. Part of my decision to go ahead and get my 3rd choice is I am not a spring chicken. Secondly, there is not an AD where I live (there were 2 at one time). The closest is 1 ½ hours away. I really wish I could have waited for the GMT but I do not have a relationship with an AD and did not want to wait 2 or 3 years or pay $1,500 to 3,000 over list price in the gray market. Some of the pre-owned watches that were 2 to 3 years old, the online retailers were asking above current retail price. I called several AD's. Some asked if I was a customer (which I was not). One AD told me the Sub's are almost as hard to get as the GMT's. From your advice and research, I found that SS are getting to be rare. The more research I did I found the ND is a very desirable watch for all the reasons you all know about. The AD I purchased my watch from had only 2 SS, the ND and Explorer II. I feel lucky that I walked in and they had my 3rd choice. Most of their inventory was gold or mixed metal. Now that I am a customer and an owner maybe they will keep me in mind for a GMT in the future. Pictures to follow-thanks to Rocco for his help and simplifying the photo process.
