A "la dolce vita" watch - the Hentschel H2 Sport
Thu, 11 May 2017 03:54
What a difference an slightly wider engraved bezel and some nicely brushed bronze and steel cases in combination with various sorts of straps can make...
May I introduce the Hentschel H2 Sport, a model that is meant for everyday use, versatile in it's appearance and - at least in my eyes - bringing back the "la dolce vita" feeling from the 1960's.
I used various types of photography to illustrate the various aspects of the H2 Sport and it's charming looks in the eyes of the beholder.
The watch is powered by the inhouse calibre 1130 we already know from the standard H2. The blued screws holding the caseback are PVD treated, those blue screws in the movement are of course heat blued, due to the volume of the screws the slots do not pick up the colour in the process.
You'll find the same attention to detail Andreas Hentschel puts on the design of the watch. The anti reflective domed crystal in combination with the domed dial and the nicely curved hands gives the impression of 'a dial growing out of the case'...
As usual, you can discuss the level movement decoration, the dial colour, the case materials, the hands and obviously the straps with Andreas Hentschel and his team while creating your very own timepiece.
The two bronze watches show their versatility on a Nato strap and a milanaise bracelet, the steel version works well on a classic racing calf leather strap. There are indeed many ways to wear a classic watch.
For today I close with some additional photos, hope you enjoy!
Cheers
Henrik
