Wittnauer Chronograph - Reference?
Mon, 30 May 2016 10:01
Hi,
I was traveling through Switzerland yesterday and when having a short break in a small city I came across a nice little Vintage Watch Shop displaying, amongst others, some beautiful old Rolexes, Omegas, VCs and even Pateks. However, for some reason the one Watch that stuck in my mind was this two register Wittnauer chronograph you find in the image below. Since the store was closed I couldn't have a closer look at the watch or ask for more information about it. I could only see it from the angle seen on the image and it was labelled only as "Wittnauer Chronograph from the 40s". Also, I live quite far away from that place such that I can't go there again soon. I searched the internet for quite a while for more information but i couldn't even find an image of a Wittnauer chronograph with this combination of dial and hands. But that's what I like about this particular watch so much. So, do you know anything about this Chronograph? I would really appreciate your help with this one.
Thank you in advance!
P.S.: I'm a TZ newbie and this is actually my first post here. I'm relatively new to the world of vintage watches and wouldn't call myself a collector but rather only an aficionado, owning (and wearing) a 60s Oysterdate as well as a 40s Angelus Chronograph.
