Talking Watches With William Massena from HODINKEE
Sat, 12 December 2015 01:23
Thanks to Ben Clymer and our friends at HODINKEE, TimeZone's William Massena opens up in the 20th episode of the online watch magazine's "Talking Watches" video series. William has always been extremely private about himself and his amazing watch collection, both online and off. However, starting with an Omega Seamaster 120 given to him by his mother when he was just 8 years old, William reveals the most personal, insightful and complete thoughts behind his passion for collecting that I've ever known him to articulate.
Video synopsis:
Say the name "William Massena" over on the now-20-year-old pages of the watch lovers' forum Timezone.com, and many will recoil in fear. William has been the long-time managing director of the mega-forum, and before that, was one if its earliest users and moderators back when I, and many of our team members, were in grade school. William grew up around watches, spending his formative years in a Swiss boarding school, before entering the world of finance, only to be pulled back into watches. He is one of the few men in this industry that has seen many sides of watches from journalism to retail, to consulting, to auctions. His influence on watches only grew when he accepted a position as a jury member of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve, and today, I am proud to welcome my dear friend, and someone from whom I have learned so much, to HODINKEE. This is your official Talking Watches with William Massena.
