Here is a post about some watches I saw at Basel from Julien Coudray 1518.

The company was founded and is run by Fabien Lamarche who is a very well regarded watchmaker. Lamarche had many important technical roles at top watch companies before he founded Coudray. The company is named after the French watchmaker Julien Coudray who is commonly credited with creating the first watch in 1518.

Some of the trademarks of the company are the fact that a very large fraction of the watches' components are made in-house, they are very willing and able to do customization of dials and they are specialists in enameling, and the fact that the watches all have movements made in precious metals (white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum).

Many of Coudray's watches have beautiful dials such as this one.

Here is a closeup so you can see the detail that went into the dial.

I noticed that the numerical indexes on the dials for Julien Coudray watches are very similar to the clock at the Musee d'Orsay, a building that was originally a railway station. Here is a link to a picture of the Musee d'Orsay for comparison:

Here is a watch with a beautiful enamel dial based on a painting by Jean-Daniel Ihly.

Here is a tourbillon with a dial that uses "plique-à-jour" enameling.

Here is a ladies piece.

As mentioned before, the movements are made in precious metals. Here is a closeup of a platinum movement. You can see lots of beautiful engraving.

Here is a yellow gold movement.

At Basel, Coudray showed off their new sport line. The case and bracelet are made of titanium.

Here's one with a white gold dial and white gold center links on the bracelet.

Here's one with a yellow gold dial and yellow gold center links on the bracelet.

Here's one with a red gold dial and red gold center links on the bracelet.
