I heard it being said on several occassions and there is proof on the case(s) themselves: the letter "G" in the dogs head indicates that hallmarking was done in the Geneva area.
From what I heard (again: not from Lange Uhren) is that Lange recently changed the source for their cases. One of the owners of the company previously making Lange cases started his own company and his company is now making Lange cases or something to that extent.
The picture above is a crop from a high res shot of my RL PLM so it isnt as sharp as it could have been. But for the purpose of this post it is sufficient. Chinese customs require the 18kt gold designation (the ""750"" on the left of the picture) being changed to ""Au750"" so hallmarking on current Lange watches will look a little different compared to the image above.
