I love the 1815 series way more than the Saxonia pieces personally. I do like the old Sax O Mat 37mm a lot so I would consider that in your shoes. But if you want 38-40mm, cannot go wrong with the 1815. I just sold my 40mm RG 1815 and I miss it. The warmth of the case, thsoe blue hands, that movement, wow. I found it in another league altogether compared to the VC you mention. I also prefer the arabics to the applied stick markers of the VC
