I didn't realize that the printed version of the catalog had better/more pics. All I saw was the dial pic in the online catalog. That dial pic didn't show the pushbutton or the caseback.

This looks like a 101.002, which was a very early model (101.022 was the same model but with sapphire back). It appears in Lange's from 1994-1998, though it is not listed on Lange's October 1997 price list. The caseback number 113021 strongly suggests that it was made well before 1999 (though it might've been sold in 1999), because by 1999 Lange was using casebacks well into the 12xxxx range. This 113021 would be about the 3000th caseback that Lange ever made.

So the question I now have is, "What distinguishes this watch from a 101.002, which was not a Japanese LE?"
