FS: Vintage Omega Speedmaster "2998-1"--Original and Outstanding Thu, 21 March 2013 12:37

I've owned this watch for many years, and it's time to pass it on. I think.

This example is entirely original, and in excellent+ condition. It's the nicest Speedmaster I've ever seen. It is clearly the one to have if you must have only one.

The 2998-1 Speedy is the first black inlay bezel model with some unique characteristics:
The "Tachymetre Base" bezel was a rare option for this reference only. It shows some light and respectful age.
The full Alpha handset was unique to this reference, though may have bled into the 2998-2, when the sub dials soon took on baton hands.

As well, it has the fabulous 321 movement, which winds incredibly smoothly and keeps excellent time.
The dial shows beautiful matching patina, and is literally without flaw.
The case is in superb condition, with no scratches or dings.

It is offered at $16,000 wired, including overnight US shipping. International shipping additional. No paypal and no trades. If genuinely interested, please ask for more photos. It can be viewed in NYC. This watch will not disappoint in any way. I promise. Thanks, Ken in NYC
