Macro photos of Speedmaster and Seamaster
Fri, 08 March 2013 10:35
Recently I took a bunch of fun macro photos of an Omega Speedmaster 3572 and Seamaster 2254. Other than my failure to clear out dusts, Omegas held up really well under close scrutiny.
The elegant crown and guards on the classic speedmaster.
The subtly-engraved logo in the middle of the hesalite crystal.
Love the case design on both the 3572 and 2254.
Behind the display back is the amazing 1861 calibre in all its glory. The main bridges are beautifully brushed and chamfered along the edges.
The main design elements on the 2254 are clearly much different. The sapphire crystal lies flush with the timing bezel. The features on the time-only dial are bolder, as expected on a diver. I love the "waves" on the dial!
The nicely detailed lume "dot" on the bezel.
There's a fair share of text on the dial, but in this case I don't seem to mind very much. The polished hands, huge lumed indices, and date window are a pleasure to read.
More well-executed tiny details by Omega.
I'm a big fan of mixing brushed and polished surfaces on a watch case. The SMP case is unique in design and pretty.
The Omega-modified calibre, based on the ETA 2892, ticks along at 8 beats per second. Both the second and minute hands go all the way to the indices!
Thanks for looking! I posted similar threads on the IWC and Sinn forums too.
