The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Fri, 08 March 2013 02:35 Go to previous message

Following up yesterday's post, here are some more images of the beautiful new Master Ultra Thin Perpetual.

A true ultra thin at only 9.2mm high, and available in white gold, pink gold and a boutique-only model in stainless steel, have been making the tour through a number of the brand's 51 worldwide boutiques. Yesterday, I had the chance to see them at the newly opened Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

After a short flight with the Reverso Tribute to 1931 US Edition on board

We made it over the Spring Mountains and dropped into Las Vegas, which was a pleasant 70 degrees

Met up with a friend for lunch...he brought some goodies!

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Minute Repeater and the new Duometre Unique Travel Time

Vintage Polaris

And we arrived at the JLC Las Vegas Boutique

We sampled a bit of the outstanding inventory, including the Extreme LAB2 models in both Titanium and Pink Gold

Duomètre Sphérotourbillon

And we arrived at the new Master Ultra Thin Perpetuals

WG on the left, PG on the right and SS in the middle. The SS comes on a deployant, the precious metals on a tang buckle

Jaeger-LeCoultre has made perpetual calendars for many years, including this piece from 1935

And of course they are firmly embedded as masters of the ultra thin

Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to produce extraordinary streamlined pieces, including this year's 41mm Ultra Thin Automatic

As well as the Master Ultra Thin Jubilee

At 4.06mm, the thinnest manual-wind mechanical wristwatch

Given the family of Master Ultra Thin pieces, such as the Moon

And Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon

It was perhaps only a matter of time before we saw an ultra thin Perpetual from Jaeger-LeCoultre.

But at this level of design? And at this pricepoint? Hard to imagine it.

Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendars are few, and are typically grail pieces for many. Because they could rightly be considered a THIS vs THAT next to a fully-equipped Mercedes Sedan (think E or S class), and because the perpetual complication is often considered long-distance aspirational. As in one day, when I'm at that point.

Perhaps no longer.

The aesthetic is timeless, and with classical appeal. At $31600 for pink gold, it's also a dream come true for many with a desire for a perpetual calendar encapsulating the finest in Swiss watchmaking.

Powered by the caliber 868, with 336 parts

Infinitely comfortable on the wrist, the 39mm watch is also most importantly easy to read!

In stainless steel ($19950), pink gold ($31600) or white gold ($34700), Jaeger-LeCoultre has created an orbital piece in their Master Ultra Thin line, anchoring both the modern day design language of the brand...

as well as advancing its formidable heritage.
