A few macro shots of an Aquatimer
Mon, 25 February 2013 02:56
Played with a macro lens tonight and took some pictures. It's always a dangerous exercise because the huge magnification factor always reveals flaws that are normally invisible, but it also shows IWC's attention to tiny details throughout. The double AR coating also worked as advertised -- the crystal never showed up in the photos.
Note the frame and bevel of the date window, as well as the angled surfaces of the hands.
The applied indices look perfect up close.
The interplay of polished and brushed surfaces on the case, bezel, bracelet, and even the fancy looking crown.
IWC's 30110 calibre, a modified ETA 2892, beating 8 times per second.
Needed to tweak some exposure settings on the camera to freeze the moving second hand.
