Hi All,
Below are some live photos of the new 1972 Prestige I had the opportunity to take. The watch's launch coincides with the opening of the first Vacheron Boutique in Paris at 2 Rue de la Paix. A smart choice for this boutique, since back in 1972, Vacheron first introduced the 1972 after winning a coveted "Prestige de la France" award for the brand's authenticity, technical perfection, and elegance.
The new 1972 Prestige measures 47 mm long, 25 mm wide, and 8.7 mm thick. Inside is the Vacheron caliber 1003 - the world's thinnest mechanical movement in production - with 18 karat gold bridges (!).
The photos below are of a non-limited edition version, produced in addition to the 40-piece Boutique Limited Edition described in this post.
The asymmetrical case's proportions were designed following the golden section ratio...
The 18 karat white gold case is polished on all surfaces, accentuating its subtle curves...
The curved dial is gray in color, with a thin chevron pattern...
The entire watch is certified to the new Hallmark of Geneva criteria.
