Tudor Aeronaut at last!
Wed, 13 February 2013 14:25
Follow this forum closely but have not had much to post ...until now! Finally pulled the trigger on an Aeronaut which has been at my local AD for some time. Black Bay and a Heritage were also there and VERY tempting too, but the watch that really caught me was the latest version of the Aeronaut (now discontinued). Being a very frequent traveler this watch suited me perfectly and I love the dial design with hints of cockpit instrumentation. Since you don't see many of these I can list a few comments:
Dial design is easy to read with big hands
Lume is good (not fantastic but lasts all night). Nice touch is the Tudor shield is lumed!
Functionality is very good, but would have preferred 1/4 turn locking on crowns vice 1/8th turn.
Band and closure very good, but I have ordered a metal bracelet and rubber band too. 21mm lugs width limits options though.
Comfortable on wrist since it is a flat Rolex back/case design.
Overall, I am thrilled to be in the Tudor family now and was happy to find one of these. There are a bunch of Aeronauts on various sites but I really prefer this dial over the other versions of dial configuration
Pic is not great but you get the idea.
