Pre-Basel 2013 - Omega Planet Ocean Sochi 2014 Wed, 06 February 2013 09:08

Limited Edition of 2,014 Pieces Each

In February of 2014, in the Russian Federation city of Sochi, Omega will assume its Olympic Games timekeeping responsibilities for the 26th time, and is looking forward to Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games marked with tradition, culture and the spirit of modern Russia.

To commemorate these unique Olympic Games, Omega has created two special editions of its Seamaster Planet Ocean wristwatches to commemorate the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Men's
The case, in stainless steel, measures 45.5mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and it is water resistant to 600 meters. It features a matt black ceramic ring with a chromium nitride divers scale. In tribute to the colors of the flag of the Russian Federation, minutes 1 through 5 are lacquered in blue; minutes 6 through 10 are lacquered in red.

The screw-in caseback is embossed with the "Sochi 2014" Olympic logo and engraved with "Si14" and the limited edition number (0001/2014). There is a helium escape valve located at 10 o'clock on the case.

Movement is the Swiss automatic Omega in-house caliber Co-Axial 8500 which features the Si14 silicon balance spring.
