Big Pilot and Portuguese Too Similar?

I have a big birthday coming up and have been looking closely at asking for the IWC Big Pilot as my 40th present, but already have a white-faced 5001 with blue arabic numerals which I wear most work days and love. My question is whether many members of this group have both timepieces and in what situations do you wear these timepieces. My concern is that these are visually these are very similar watches and I would appreciate some guidance. I own an Eberhard Traversetolo Vitre which I have not worn once since the purchase of the Portuguese.
