Dive Watch Topic Discussion - The "Others"
Wed, 30 January 2013 09:59
Today's topic is another one suggested by forum member Jeff Emslie and I think it's a good one. Do any of you collect non-diver's watches or is everyone here mainly interested in only dive watches? If so, why?
My own collection includes a lot of different styles of watches. My first real interest in watches was sparked by one of those ads for a cheap chronograph that used to appear in the back of comic books (we're talking nearly 50 years ago.) I think they sold for something like $9.99 and I actually got one when I was 10 or 11. It turned my wrist green, but I was in heaven for about a month until it quit working.
During my early 20s, even before I was a certified diver, I developed a real love for dive watches and they now make up the largest proportion of my collection.
I posted this SOTC video last year and although one or two have come and gone since then, it's still pretty representative of what I own.
So what's your story?
