I am seeking to acquire a "dressier" watch to wear on an everyday basis. One of the pieces I am strongly considering is the 1815 in RG or WG. It meets a number of my criteria, including: 1) list price in the low- to mid-$20k range, 2) not too conservative/staid like a PP 5196 so can be worn with a suit as well as jeans and a dress shirt (in my view at least), and 3) appears to be robust/suitable for everyday wear. I would sincerely appreciate this highly informed community's perspective on the 1815 in light of these criteria. For additional context, I currently have one other piece, a higher-end diver, and realistically will only have a total of three watches in my collection so this is a key acquisition.
I just saw the new 1815 up/down released at SIHH and this piece is now in the running too. When should I expect this piece to be available at retailers? Also, given the criteria outlined above, are there other pieces I should consider? I am open to other brands as well (though I recognize I am posting on the Lange forum) and welcome all suggestions.
