Optimum NY Launch - Small group collectors dinner Sun, 16 December 2012 05:48 Go to previous message

Last month in a private NY Club there was a collector's dinner to celebrate the launch of the Chronometre Optimum. What a setting!

The guest of honor Mr. Journe was there in good spirits.

There were a few announcements on the night. Ashley Hilton (on the left) the Director of the NY Boutique will be leaving to start a family. She has done an amazing job of building the FP Journe community and will greatly be missed. Michelle Yeterian (on the right) will be take over as the new Director of the boutique and I think we all agree she is the perfect choice to ensure a smooth transition.

The other announcement was the introduction of the lovely Amelie Lefevere (on the right). She has recently taken over as the new CEO of FP Journe. This is an exciting development for the brand. Mr. Journe can now focus on what he really loves - making watches.

While Amelie is engaged in conversation I couldn't help but notice what looks like a one of the aluminum lineSport watches with rubber strap on the gentlemen's wrist. I wonder if it was an ARS or CTS.

There were some other interesting pieces on guests wrists. Glancing over at the collector next to Mr. Journe you can notice an early generation remontoir.

Of course the night was about the Optimum which was passed to around to look at. William and Amelie are explaining the technical specifications to this collector.

Mr. Journe made the rounds talking to all the guests while one shows off his beautiful black label Octa RDM.

On another wrist was a gorgeous Octa Chronograph.

But it was the the rose gold Optimum that grabbed everyone's attention as it was passed around. At 42mm it was hard to miss and the initial reaction was overwhelmingly positive.

The following night there was a cocktail party at the FP Journe Boutique in NY.

More to follow in a separate post.
