Scenes from a holiday cocktail at the Vacheron NY Boutique >>>

Hi All,
Yesterday I was lucky to be invited by Vacheron to an intimate, private tour of Matisse: In Search of True Painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, followed by a holiday cocktail party at their nearby Boutique.
Vacheron is a sponsor of the exhibit, which showcases how Henri Matisse painted scenes over and over again to perfect his craft - either changing vantage points or by altering scenes with subtle or dramatic changes.

Matisse, as we were shown through photographs, would set up exhibits of his multiple scenes to show younger artists just how much work was involved in creating his paintings. Like Vacheron's motto, "Do better if possible, which is always possible," he strived to improve his works throughout his lifetime.
The exhibit comprises 49 paintings, and runs through March 17th, 2013. If you happen to be in NYC during this time, I highly recommend visiting!
Following our tour, we were transported a few blocks away to Vacheron's Boutique on Madison and 64th Street, where champagne and hors d'ouevres were served during a holiday cocktail. Here are some scenes...
Atmosphere...
People admiring the watches on display - and really enjoying the view...
Joe is thinking..."Boy oh boy - there are so many I want - I can't choose just one!" :-)
Eduardo, the Boutique's in-house watchmaker, was standing by to assist clients with technical questions...
Introducing the lovely Hyla Bauer, Vacheron's new PR lead...
Hugues de Pins, President of Vacheron North America, gave a brilliant toast...
Of course, the selection of watches on display at the Boutique is easily as good as it gets in the US, but wonderful watches were also found on the wrists of guests...
A very rare, limited edition Royal Eagle Chronograph in rose gold...
His cufflinks...
On the wrist of his lovely wife, a 1972 Prestige de la France...
A Les Historiques 1955 - the thinnest watch in the world!
Serious bling - a pavé diamond Patrimony Traditionelle (that I made sure my wife didn't see!)...
On Hugues' wrist - a special Patrimony Contemporaine made for Vacheron's 250th anniversary..
Just before we left, Hyla invited us to come to the back to see a real treat - a Patrimony Traditionelle Calibre 2253 made especially for the NY Boutique. It's a superbly complicated piece, with 14-day power reserve, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, equation of time, and sunrise/sunset complications...
The side of the case is engraved with a "frieze" motif that's found on the exterior of the NY Boutique's building...
Child-like delight...
It was great to meet new, passionate VC collectors and catch up with old friends - thank you, Vacheron!
