An old dog learns a new trick.

A couple of months ago, I picked up a white face 42mm Explorer II. I absolutely love the watch and did some research about it before making the purchase. I was most fascinated with the "Easy Link" bracelet as I live in New England and our temperature differences between Winter and Summer can be severe. Nobody likes a watch that digs into their wrist. I should point out that I first purchased a Blue Sub in 1987 and had a Datejust before that, so I'm not a complete newbie. Anyway, back to the bracelet... I've been wearing a stainless Daytona for almost 10 years and it's just perfect on my wrist. I had a little trouble getting the links on the Explorer just right, but I'm very comfortable with it now.
Having the Explorer II gave me the perfect opportunity to send the Daytona back to the Spa for some overdue TLC. Some weeks later, the Daytona was returned to me looking showroom new. How they do that is beyond me, but it's truly magnificent. When I put the Daytona on, it felt a bit too loose on my wrist and I thought "Great, I've gotten used to the Explorer and now the Daytona feels too big." I hate having two watches that I love but one fits better than the other. The Daytona has spent the past few weeks on the winder and only came out once for an evening. Today, I'm wearing a suit and the Daytona just goes better with it than the Explorer. All day long, I've been thinking that I need to find a way to adjust this bracelet to make it a tad smaller. There are those three "dimples" in the clasp that I've used in the past, but it's already set to the smallest setting. I started looking closely at the bracelet to decide which link to remove and guess what I see...that's right...Easy Link!!!! WTF, I've owned this watch for about a decade and never heard of Easy Link until I read about it in a review for the new Explorer II. One little click and my Daytona fits like a glove. Rolex USA obviously opened it up for service and left it that way.
Honestly, I'm feeling a bit like an idiot. For how many years has Rolex had this wonderful feature?
