What was your first Ball watch? Do you still have it? Sun, 02 December 2012 13:55 Go to previous message

I was running through some old photos and I realized that Ball was one of the first companies that I grew to love in my early days of watch collecting. At the time I didn't really even consider taking photos of my watches, but I managed to snap a few of my first Ball.

It's the EM II Diver... I first heard about Ball here on TZ in the public forum when someone published a lume shot. I was astounded, since back then in my naive mind lume was always green...never orange, blue, yellow, or red. And then I discovered the amazing line-up that Ball has. They still have among the most diverse collections of any watch company.

Soon after I saw a night train. Wow...I had to have it! I eventually landed a second generation NT (green tritium throughout except for a red marker at 12), a great and bright watch.

I then got my EM II Diver Chronometer. I still feel bad about letting this one go. It was such a great, hefty and cool watch. This watch will be in my future again...

I probably do too much re-arranging of my collection as all of the above are now sold. However, the watch below, my Storm Chaser DLC is a keeper for life. It's been with me on my travels to Madagascar, England, Denmark, Netherlands, Mauritius, France, and beyond and it's not going anywhere.

Anyways, Steve is recuperating and will post some photos of the Ball BMW event soon, but humor me as this is my maiden post as a mod and tell me about your first ball watch.

When I'm not salivating over fine watches that I can't afford, this is what I do.
