First Omega in Space and Moonphase Aventurine pics Sat, 24 November 2012 04:36 Go to previous message

I had the pleasure of handling two new Speedmasters yesterday in Bangkok: the Speedmaster First Omega in Space model and the Speedmaster Moonphase Aventurine. They are apparently available for sale now. The former arrives at the appropriate time. The latter, however, is about two years overdue as you know.

My friends picked their watch well for the evening.

The First Omega in Space in its presentation box

Up close and personal

On the wrist of its fresh owner (not mine)

Oh, there you are! The Speedmaster Moonphase Aventurine!

On the wrist of my friend. He found the subdials too clustered together in the center because of the larger case size.

On my wrist. I am not in anyway bothered by that. My wallet disagreed with the price tag, though, at 190% of a conventional 1866 Speedmaster Moonphase.

The Aventurine alongside other moonphase variations worn to the event by my friends. I confirm that the Aventurine has screw bracelet links with conventional Speedmaster clasp, unlike an earlier sample shown at Basel.

Use of sensibility (not to buy) had negative damage on my brain cells. I had to find a cure quickly.

And here's what I wore that evening... my dad's Speedmaster Mark II with racing dial

I hope these are helpful for anyone considering these two models. Thanks for looking.
