Help and info for Omega Seamaster
Sun, 18 November 2012 09:34
Hi all,
I found this site today and thought I would register and say Hi.
My father passed away in 2010 and he left me his Omega (which I admired since childhood).
He was awarded the watch for 25 years service in 1980 from the mine at which he worked.
In his later years he was a bit rough with it and it seems that the winder has been damaged.
I cannot adjust the date or minute hand, when I turn it the hour hand turn jerkily and makes clicking sounds?
I am totally new to this field and would really like it if you all chip in with comments.
I have always felt that if you know nothing about a subject, consult experts and don't mess with it... hence my presence.
Cheers,
Stuart
The info I have about the watch is as follows:
Omega Seamaster
Calibre 1342
Metal Ref: BA196.0102
Mov.No. 40778483
Date: 1980, possibly January
