Hi All,
As promised, here's the first in-depth look at one of the superb watches I found on display at the Vacheron NY Boutique last week. This is a stunning skeletonized tourbillon wristwatch, reference 30066/2, featuring a power reserve indicator at 10 o'clock and a date indicator at 2 o'clock. The skeleton work is just amazing, as can be expected from Vacheron.
It's housed in a platinum "Malte"-style, tonneau-shaped case measuring 36 mm wide and 48 mm tall, with a thickness of 11.8 mm. The hands are crafted from black-oxidized solid gold.
A "Malte" stepped lug. That's a date corrector just to the left of the crown...
A seconds indicator is found on top of the tourbillon, within the large aperture at 6 o'clock. Check out the Maltese-cross shaped tourbillon bridge...
The open-working of the bridges is exquisite - so thin, so well-finished, with beautiful hand-engraving...
