No, this one isn't mine, but rather, it was graciously loaned to me for an extended test drive while I wait for my LE version to be completed. A proper review is forthcoming, but in the meantime I'm really enjoying having it on my wrist.
Initial thoughts? Well, the fit and finish is flawless, which is what we've come to expect from Fricker in Germany, the Soprod A10 winds like butter, the lume is bright and long-lasting, the supplied Isofrane strap is a perfect fit and the applied indexes add just the right amount of pop to the dial. The only differences between this one and the LE will be the movement (MHVJ 2005 w/silicon escapement), caseback (it comes with a sapphire exhibition; a solid case back is included) and a slightly revised bezel. Also, mine will have robin's egg blue highlights instead of red ones.
Oh, and one more thing... The LE is being assembled and QC'd by none other than Thomas Prescher (!!!). That's right, he'll be doing the honors for the LEs, though it's worth noting that he had input in the design of the CD-2 from the very beginning.
All-in-all, the CD-2 is an impressive watch, and IMO at least, it vaults straight to the front of the boutique diver ranks.
