The new Aquatimer bracelet and clasp
Sun, 30 September 2012 07:18
I recently got the new Aquatimer (3568-09), and while researching the new model, I noticed a few threads that asked for clarification or pictures on the new clasp. I finally had a chance to type this up; hope it helps.
In summary, these are the changes I noticed from my old 3568-05; regrettably, I do not have pictures of the clasp on the old model.
1. The finish is all brushed now, versus the old model's polished center links. While looks are purely subjective, the brushed finish does match the tool capability of the Aquatimer (water resistant to 2,000 meters!) better. It's now truly usable as a tool diver
2. The clasp now has two push buttons instead of 1. This may seem trivial, but it actually makes the clasp a lot easier to open. I always found the old single button a bit of a pain to firmly depress when in a hurry. This new system makes that a non-concern
3. The clasp itself is much more sturdy. The steel feels thicker, and the links that join the clasp on either side are noticeably stronger than the old model
4. The finishing on the entire bracelet is better - this is not noticeable by the naked eye, but very noticeable by touch. The bracelet is smoother and finished to a higher level
5. The clasp feels more comfortable; I believe this may have something to do with the increased sturdiness of the clasp and the better finishing on the bracelet, making it feel more secure and comfortable to wear
I took some pictures of the bracelet and clasp this time too ;).
