NEW MODELS: Seiko and Star Wars... Mon, 10 September 2012 04:32 Go to previous message

Howdy all,

Seiko have announced a collaboration with the Star Wars franchise, releasing six limited edition models this October for the Japanese market.

Every model has realised the perspective of the world of a Star Wars character in its shape, design and colour. The language "Aurebesh" used in the Star Wars universe is engraved on the side of the case.

There are serial numbers and the image of the character on the back side of the case.

Darth Vader model: SAGA125  ¥141,750 - 1,500 pcs.

Case size: 42.5 mm in diameter, 11.3mm in thickness

Caliber: 8B54  ( Solar quartz ) radio wave for Japan, China and US

Darth Maul model: SAGA127  ¥136,500 - 800pcs.

Case size: 43.4 mm in diameter, 11.0 mm in thickness

Caliber: 8B82 (Solar quartz)

Chronograph up to 60 minutes in 1/5 second increments

Yoda: SDGC013 - 600pcs.

C-3PO: SDGC015 - 600pcs.

Storm Trooper: SDGC011 - 500pcs.

Yoda, C-3PO, and Storm Trooper models retail for ¥136,500, and share the following specifications:

Case size: 41.7 mm in diameter, 12.4 mm in thickness

Caliber: Calibre 6R24 mechanical self winding with manual winding capability.

Accuracy: between -15 and +25 seconds per day.

R2-D2 model: SDGA005 ¥126,000 - 1000pcs.

Case size: 45.5 mm X 46.0 mm, 9,5 mm in thickness

Caliber: S770 Instructions

Case and crystal specs for the above watches as follows:

Case:

Stainless Steel with hard coating (Darth Vader, Darth Maul, C-3pO, Storm Trooper)

Stainless Steel with partially hard coating (R2-D2)

Stainless Steel (Yoda)

Band:

Stainless Steel with hard coating (Darth Vader, Darth Maul, C-3pO, Storm Trooper)

Stainless Steel(R2-D2,Yoda)

Glass:

Sapphire crystal with Super-Clear Coating. Super-Clear is Seiko's proprietary newly-developed anti-reflective coating, applied on both the front and back of the glass. It prevents 99% of light reflection and allows the dial to be easily legible, even in bright light. R2-D2 model features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

Water resistance: 10 bar

Magnetic resistance: 4,800A/m except for R2-D2

Thanks for looking,

Alex
