Dinner in the Deep Sea Sat, 01 September 2012 11:05 Go to previous message

What could be better then a Saturday night dinner at a top steakhouse? Tonight I was out to dinner with a friend when I noticed something special on his wrist.

We were sipping a aged bourbon when I noticed the Memovox tribute to the Deep Sea diver watch originally presented in 1959. This was the first automatic diving watch to feature an alarm function.

I noticed the alarm was set for 8pm - the time set when you can hear and feel the vibration of the alarm. The watch is completely understated. It has a a plexiglas crystal and with luminous triangles and index markers.

The Deep Sea Diver is perfectly understated. I love how Jaeger LeCoultre is written in a tiny font with no other indication of the brand. My friend spent time in the military and wears the watch with the dial wrist side up. Completely stealth!
