Longines U.S. Navy BUSHIPS- WORLD WAR II Sat, 18 August 2012 12:03

33x41mm (not counting the crown) LONGINES 16J U.S. NAVY BUSHIPS ca. 1944. Very collectible military timepiece. Triple signed- dial, case and movement. Good running order on the signed Longines caliber 23M manual wind movement. Serial number 6833084 dates this watch to 1944. The inside caseback is signed: Longines Watch, Swiss and Acier Inox. The outer caseback has the military markings with matching number 774 on caseback and inner lugs. This is the second iteration of this watch- a 17J caliber was used in the earlier models and they did not have a 24 hour marked dial and Longines was signed on the outer caseback instead of the inner caseback. THE MODEL YOU SEE IN THIS AD IS RARE. Unbelievable original dial with dark bronze patina. THIS WATCH CAME TO ME VIA THE ORIGINAL OWNER who passed it down to his daughter and, I assume, served in the U.S. NAVY during World War II. The overal condition is very good. PRICE REDUCED TO ABOUT HALF WHAT THESE ARE SELLING FOR ON DEALER WEBSITES AND THE AUCTION SITE- WHEN YOU CAN FIND ONE. SELL: $650.00 plus shipping.
