Re: pin lever

As pointed pit pin lever movements are not the best for a beginner, but no-one pointed out how to ID one from others. Typically pin lever watches will have "one jewel unadjusted" on the main plate. Part of the problem is all the wheels are under one large plate. 7 jewel and 17 jewel movements or more jewel counts are usually good and have separate "bridges" for the wheels and mainspring. As pointed out before, the ETA movements are good quality and you could even buy just a movement new if you like. They are typically easy to disassemble and reassemble and they run well with few adjustment problems.
