Up Close with the Baume et Mercier 2011 Novelties Wed, 06 July 2011 10:34 Go to previous message

Yesterday, Timezone had a hands on look at the Linea collection of ladies watches. Today, Baume & Mercier gives Timezone an exclusive look at its new Capeland and Classima collections.

For 2011, the new Capeland Flyback Chronograph reaches back to the company’s distinguished heritage and reinterprets a Bi-compax chronograph from 1948. The Capeland collection also adds a newly designed Capeland Chronograph with Tri-compax layout in two-tone dial configurations of white, black, brown, slate-gray or silver.

The new Classima models are elegant, classic timepieces designed for the stylish professional. The four Classima novelties include an 18-carat red gold Dual Time Zone with Power Reserve, an Automatic Jumping Hour, an Annual Calendar with Big Date, and a simple 18-carat red gold Dress Watch.

The 44mm case features both brushed and polished surfaces. The timepiece houses a sophisticated La Joux-Perret Calibre 8147. This 27-jewel flyback chronograph movement with 42-hour power reserve is produced by Manufacture La Joux-Perret SA, a high-end mechanical movement specialist based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The company also produces other high-end complicated movements for Breitling, Chopard, Hublot, Panerai and Jorg Hysek.
