Watch stopped running Sat, 04 June 2011 23:38 Go to previous message

My Zenith El Primero suddenly stopped running. The watch was serviced more than two years ago and was running with a fanstastic accuracy but I noticed that sometimes it would stop after setting the time. With this watch if you apply backpressure the seconds hand will stop/run backward for a bit. So at times after setting the time it would stop and I would have to run the hands forward a bit for it to restart. This morning all I did was wind it by hand (it was already running) to full or near full reserve and set it down. Then I noticed it wasn't running. I moved the hands forward and nothing. When I start the chronohraph it will run for a few seconds and stop.

Any thoughts on what the problem could be and if it can be fixed by non-authorized repairshops? Is it a problem that the watch is fully wound and in this condition? I'm out of the country and won't be able to have it fixed any time soon.
