NEW MODELS - Dior "Christal Midnight Blue" & "D de Dior Rose Gold"

Designed exclusively by John Galliano for Dior, the new Christal Midnight Blue rubber watch will be available from Dior boutiques and selected retailers from May 2008, priced at £3,150.
This stainless steel (33mm) timepiece is fitted with an automatic movement. The blue mother of pearl dial is set with 36 diamonds, the bezel is set with 80 diamonds, the stainless steel bracelet is set with 117 diamonds, and the registers are set with pyramid-cut, scratch proof blue sapphire crystal. Total diamonds: 233 (2.35 carats) and the model is produced in a limited edition of 500.
"Navy blue is the only colour that can ever compete with black, it has all the same qualities," Christian Dior himself once said. And having seen this version of it - with a blue lacquered dial featuring 76 diamonds and 15 hand-cut sapphire crystal inserts on the bezel - you can't help but agree.
The latest La D creation is from Victoire de Castellane, artistic director of fine jewellery at the Dior house. Just 15 of the D de Dior Rose Gold pieces have been made and at £14,900, they are worth every penny. The case features 18k rose gold, a mother of pearl dial and an 18k rose gold in-set spiral of 55 pink diamonds, while the bezel is made up of a further 76 diamonds off set against a black satin strap. Available from Dior boutiques from May 2008.
