Today, Glashütte Original is one of the few remaining authentic watch manufacturers in the world.



Our most complex calibers require up to three hundred hours of work and demonstrate that work done by hand is true luxury. Every year, more than 7,000 visitors experience how the most minute and precise parts are manufactured, and how movement components are delicately finished using tin polishing, perlage, stripe finishing and sun-burst decoration. Hand engraving, manually polished surfaces, and bevelled edges on filigreed movement components demonstrate how committed we are to the motto "Handmade in Germany".

Of course, Germany also stands for innovative ideas and new inventions. Glashütte Original has realized not only the Flying Tourbillon on the dial side of a wrist watch and the panorama date, but also many other remarkable timepieces in recent years.

For example, the PanoRetroGraph was outfitted with a flyback function and the world's first chronograph with a countdown function and a triple repetition chime. The PanoMaticChrono provided a new experience in reading the time, while the intelligent winding mechanism of the caliber 95 adjusts itself to the movements of its wearer. The PanoInverse XL displayed Glashütte Original's innovative duplex swan-neck fine adjustment and the beautiful Glashütte finishing details on the front.

With these characteristic elements and others such as the famous Glashütte three-quarter plate or the typical gold chatons, we can proudly look back on more than 160 years of continuous watchmaking tradition.

As one of the founding members of the new German Watch Museum Glashütte, and with the establishment of the Alfred Helwig School of Watchmaking, we provide an even further contribution to watch culture.
