Doesn't every single Panerai owner consider those adventures

before buying a Panerai? The watch evokes that same sense of adventure & history. Everything about the construction, decorative elements (Siluro a Lenta Corsa), & the watch model names themselves are a tribute to these same kinds of adventure & history - Marina Militare (from the Palombari della Marina Militare), Mare Nostrum (Latin for "Our Sea" & Roman name for the Mediterranean Sea), Decima Mas (from the famous WWII Decima Mas Italian commando frogman unit), etc.
The strongest appeal of the watch is its legit military history, culture & utility as a sports watch. To this day, the COMSUBIN base maintains a small exhibit with historical timepieces & instruments made by G. Panerai & Figlio for the Regia Marina (Royal Italian Navy).
So yea, I can easily see people having a strong interest in buying an experience of a lifetime, and then getting a pretty cool souvenir to remember the occasion.
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about. Wilde
