Got a taste of watchmaking thanks to IWC! Mon, 08 October 2018 13:55 Go to next message

I had the good fortune of attending a brief IWC hosted watchmaking lesson yesterday here in Miami.

We got to disassemble an IWC caliber specially designed to be used for teaching purposes. It was a large, hand wound time only movement. The IWC staff were very friendly, warm and knowledgeable. I will now forever have this memory in mind when I look at the time on my Aquatimer :)

Some photos:

Some of the watches on display.

IWC box with tools, loupe, etc.

Movement we got to partially dissect, and my Aquatimer.

My in-laws once went to a similar Omega event. I was very jealous.

What an awesome thing for IWC to do for the community on here. Hats off to their marketing / customer service people.

Reality is nothing more than a perception...
