Q: Vacheron manufacturing tour in Geneva
Tue, 03 April 2018 18:34
I may have the opportunity to go on a manufacturing tour of Vacheron in Geneva. I'm very thankful for the opportunity and super excited. I was hoping a few of you all may have gone on this or a similar tour and, if so, would be kind enough to share what to expect, what to look for, and any other tips.
My wife and I were there last March 2017 and also toured the V-C manufacture/assembly facility in Le Brassus down the road from Audamars Piquet. We were treated very well at both and really enjoyed it. Perhaps the highlight for us both was the enameling or dial painting area in Geneva. Such great artisans that create magnificent dials- truly great artists. In Le Brassus it was so interesting to see and learn how different watch parts are tempered (heated and cooled) to get the right kind of elasticity or hardness.
Everyone was so friendly, especially our contact in Geneva Gael Porte and tour guide there Maxime D.
