Rich, good stuff with the paint.
Off topic/thread hijack, but seeing as you are clearly an expert on paint, would you explain the difference between powder coating and paint to me? Seems to me that powder coating seems to be what people are doing for their wheels and other parts (valve covers, etc.) but not for body panels. Is there a lustre difference?

...(or rich for that matter) but, powder coating is a very different process from painting.
As from the name, powder coating uses a plastic dry powder, which is applied usually using an electrostatic process (e.g., you electrically charge the item to be powder coated, and the powder is sprayed onto the item). This is then sent through an oven, which melts the coating to the item and forms a skin. There are no solvents or other evaporative components unlike paint.
As such, the surface is essentially a plastic coating, which has benefits and limitations.
