BASELWORLD 2018 - Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscape Quantieme Annuel Thu, 22 March 2018 10:16 Go to next message

The Bathyscaphe, a pillar of the Fifty Fathoms collection, pairs for the first time sport with a useful complication in a new annual calendar model.

The case, in stainless steel, measures 43mm x 13.4mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back, and it is water resistant to 300 meters. Unidirectional steel bezel with ceramic insert and Liquidmetal hour-markers.

Movement is the Swiss automatic Blancpain in-house caliber 6054p with 34 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 72 hours. It features indications for the day of the week, date, and month shown in windows and arranged in the logical order that most people would use in common parlance. This annual calendar approaches the convenience of the perpetual variety, as it fully accounts for all the irregularities in the length of months, except for February. The calendar thus requires adjustment only once per year at the end of that month.

It has a meteor grey dial with luminous hands and markers.

It comes on a 23mm sail-canvas or a NATO strap with steel buckle, or on a a steel bracelet.

Thanks.

Maybe more of an expedition watch with divers' capability... Fri, 23 March 2018 06:39 Go to previous message

... and not just a divers' watch. looks very nice, and the thickness did not change which is a good thing also. But still an annual calendar is useless for a divers' watch.
