BASELWORLD 2018 - Breitling Navitimer Super 8
Tue, 20 March 2018 11:37
Inspired by the Reference 637, a stopwatch used in the Second World War by bomber pilots and crews. The Reference 637 was strapped to the aviators' thighs, which allowed optimal readability and ease of use. The crown was located on the left side of the case, and its prominent size and positioning meant that an aviator's hand even gloved could easily move it. Because the Reference 637 was strapped to the thigh, the crown was ideally located at the top of the case. The pusher was used to activate the count-up and count-down functions that allowed the aviators to execute their missions with precision.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in stainless steel or in titanium, measures 46mm (50mm with the bezel) x 14.4mm. It has a convex AR-coated sapphire crystal and it is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Breitling in-house caliber B20 with 28 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 70 hours. It is COSC-certified as a chronometer. Functions are: hours, minutes, and seconds.
It has a black or military green dial with SuperLuminov numerals and hands.
It comes on a brown NATO leather strap with a steel or a titanium pin buckle.
