Almost missed out on this black dial ceramic Daytona -

I have had the white dial since last summer and was waiting for the black dial. I stopped in to see my AD about something else and he just happened to receive delivery of the black dial right before I walked in. He mistakenly thought that I already had the black dial and just mentioned in passing that "another black dial" just came in.
I corrected him on the mistake and he then immediately prepared the package for me to take home and I couldn't be happier. Nice to have the pair and even nicer to have walked out with it before he called someone else on his list. Sometimes you just don't know what happens when you walk through the door.

I too have both and find myself wearing the black dial version much more. I once said I rate the black dial at 51% and the white dial at 49% out of 100%. I've updated that to 52% versus 48% for black dial :)

Thank you for the kind replies guys. I too thought the white dial was the "the one" to have but similar to Champ, I would rate the black dial now at 52% and the white dial at 48%. They are however both spectacular pieces and I am very happy with the pair.

White is my choice :)

I've got to admit the white dial is substantially more attractive to me. I don't have one yet. But the contrast is just spectacular with the white dial. Congrats to the original poster though!

Similar thing happened to me with GMT-Batman. I walked in to browse, they just got the Batman in, and I walked out with it. Sometimes luck is a good thing.
