Almost missed out on this black dial ceramic Daytona - Sat, 11 November 2017 09:43 Go to next message

I have had the white dial since last summer and was waiting for the black dial. I stopped in to see my AD about something else and he just happened to receive delivery of the black dial right before I walked in. He mistakenly thought that I already had the black dial and just mentioned in passing that "another black dial" just came in.

I corrected him on the mistake and he then immediately prepared the package for me to take home and I couldn't be happier. Nice to have the pair and even nicer to have walked out with it before he called someone else on his list. Sometimes you just don't know what happens when you walk through the door.

Thanks for looking.

I know the white dial... Sat, 11 November 2017 14:47 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Is the darling of the two, but I think the black dial is much better looking!

Congratulations. Sat, 11 November 2017 14:57 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I too have both and find myself wearing the black dial version much more. I once said I rate the black dial at 51% and the white dial at 49% out of 100%. I've updated that to 52% versus 48% for black dial :)

Enjoy them both!

Thank you for the kind replies guys. I too thought the white dial was the "the one" to have but similar to Champ, I would rate the black dial now at 52% and the white dial at 48%. They are however both spectacular pieces and I am very happy with the pair.

White is my choice :) Tue, 14 November 2017 16:54 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I've got to admit the white dial is substantially more attractive to me. I don't have one yet. But the contrast is just spectacular with the white dial. Congrats to the original poster though!

You and a lot of other people. Tue, 14 November 2017 16:58 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I only give black a 2% advantage. Just my personal opinion of course. I'm so happy to have the choice to wear either ;)

Similar thing happened to me with GMT-Batman. I walked in to browse, they just got the Batman in, and I walked out with it. Sometimes luck is a good thing.

GP Vintage 1945 (p.res, small seconds), Glashutte Sport Evo panorama date, Rolex GMT Master II (Batman), Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, Omega Planet Ocean 8500, Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 8500, Breitling Super Ocean Heritage, Panerai PAM 48,
