What is this vintage Rolex called. Sun, 25 November 2012 16:06 Go to next message

Please could forumites help identify this watch. I am told that this Rolex chrono was produced before the advent of Daytona. My question is; just as we have the Submariner, Explorer, Daytona, GMT, Yachtmaster, Datejust etc, what is the name of this vintage pre-Daytona Rolex.

Hello TN;

Nice watch, but I am sorry to tell you that it doesn't actually have a name; it is a nice 1950s antimagnetic three register chronograph, but that is as far as it goes.

Although it is more than a decade earlier than the Daytona, it does actually share a movement with the Daytona; viz, the Valjoux 72 17 jewel calibre.

Good Luck
James

Thanks Ben. I picked it up quickly from a Swiss dealer a few days ago.
