"Never Stand Still"-Tour ... Thu, 20 September 2012 03:42 Go to next message

International Road-show with New Products from A. Lange & Söhne

It is part of the tradition of the Saxon Manufaktur Lange to never stand still. That's how it should be with a good watch. The A. Lange & Söhne novelties of 2012 uphold the brand's aim to develop itself and its products unceasingly.

With a "Never Stand Still Tour", an international road-show, A. Lange & Söhne will present its current watch collection in more than 60 cities around the world between September and December 2012. In each city, invited Lange owners and partners will have the opportunity of seeing the entire new collection that had its premiere in January at the Geneva watch fair.

Beyond these, for the first time, is also the brand's top-of-the line model, the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON PERPETUAL CALENDAR. This watch represents the continuous quest for perfection that distinguishes the brand and makes its timepieces outstanding references to the Saxon art of watchmaking.

"It is very important to us to develop our relationship with A. Lange & Söhne collectors in depth, and to continue building on our many years of successful collaboration with our retailers. Only those who are in close touch with the market and who listen to their customers will be able to set the points right for the future," says Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid, clarifying the significance of the company's programme of events.

An accompanying exhibition goes back to the brand's roots in the Saxon region and provides an insight into the development of craftsmanship that the Saxons had already cultivated to the highest levels by the Middle Ages. In the Baroque period, under their art-loving ruler, Augustus the Strong, they took their crafts to cultural heights that made the country famous throughout Europe.

That was my first question too ... Fri, 21 September 2012 12:15 Go to previous messageGo to next message

The answer isnt that straightforward. Some of the events have already taking place (Hongkong, Shanghau, Hanghzou, NYC) and
other events coincide with annual "regular" watch events (like Munichtime and Viennatime f.i.), and some events are local
events organized together with the Lange retailers around the world (Beirut, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Nappa Valley, Tokyo, Bombai).

That yet again Chicago doesn't seem to be a city much valued by Lange. There ARE a number of Lange owners here, but marketing for the brand in the Midwest seems very poor. This market has, within the US, good growth potential, but it won't grow without marketing support.

My thoughts exactly. Sun, 23 September 2012 14:12 Go to previous messageGo to next message

There's more to America than the Northeast Corridor and LA/SF. It's too bad that Lange doesn't market more in the middle of the country.

(Not to mention that I won't be able to attend an event in Beirut or Mumbai, but Chicago would be a different story.)

My Thoughts exactly Le Chef Wed, 26 September 2012 22:23 Go to previous message

Many Lange owners in the Midwest who are being neglected by the brand. A real shame- IMHO. They pulled the brand from a major AD in Dallas recently. I personally bought 3 pieces in two years, one of which was a complication, all from Dallas. Maybe small-time to ALS- I don't know. I always viewed the Brand as more attentive to customer loyalty though.

A shame.
